Following is a list of my favorite free e-zines and newsletters dealing with E-Business
and Web technical issues, along with general management and personal growth.. (A
continuación se encuentra mi lista de recursos preferidos sobre el comercio electrónico
y asuntos técnicos.)
Please

This is a difficult topic because it should fall under the marketers but
involves technical web knowledge to implement that many marketers don't know.
If you're an e-marketer, make it your business to know how your site gets
ranked by the leading search engines and how to optimize it. If your customers
can't find you, it doesn't matter how good your site is! To learn the skinny
on SEO, visit these sites:
SearchEngineWatch.com
at http://www.searchenginewatch.com/
is more technical than most sites I recommend here, but is invaluable to all
online marketers in learning how to optimize your site for best search
engine and directory placement. I recommend buying an annual subscription to
get the really good stuff at http://www.searchenginewatch.com/about/subscribe.html?source=home
. This is an example of a great personal site by Danny Sullivan that became
a great business, and well worth it. All marketers need to be versed with
these topics to direct the technicians to make the changes that can mean a
difference of millions of hits and sales! You may want to attend the
seminars he now offers as well.
ClickZ
at http://clickz.com/ on Internet.com is a
terrific site with detailed articles explaining A to Z of marketing,
technology and other trends and specific techniques.
E-Commerce Guide at Internet.com at http://e-comm.internet.com/
gives short, cogent advice on e-marketing tips and techniques.
The
Electronic Retailing Organization's daily Retailing.org
newsletter is useful for e-tailers. ERA is the international trade
association for etailers.
International Webmasters Association's Official E-zine at www.webprofession.com (most of the good stuff is
members only, however, although it's easy to join.)
Best Practices http://www.bbpnews.com/ Bureau of
Business Practice, Publisher of Authoritative, Timely, and Useful Information for
Executives, Managers, and Employees.
www.Advisor.com has zones for every
type of technical and marketing information related to the Internet. This is a
must-bookmark page. Each zone pulls topics from all over the site into
targeted sections, thus creating a very focused topic list for its target
audiences. There will be repeated columns between sections, but it is still
very useful. Many specific technical areas. Some general zones:
Internet.com, one of the few free dot com news sites to survive the recent
carnage (thus far), offers some of the best up-to-date technical and marketing
newsletters going. Sign up at http://e-newsletters.internet.com
Internet.com's network of more than 150 Web sites are organized into
multiple channels. Some are:
http://www.useit.com Since mine is a
private site, I like to give other private sites good billing. This site is
by Jakob Nielsen, the
Usability Guru's, excellent site on top web issues. Subscribe to his AlertBox newsletter
of timely usability articles. His older articles can be found on the site as well.
The following online publications are those that I prefer to read online,
and don't necessarily buy the print subscription. See my E-Business
Publications section for ones I recommend paying for. Many would argue with me based on their own needs and interests,
but my time has got ever shorter as the amount I need to read grows longer. Thus
I tend to use the following magazine's online versions and bulletins as more
useful for me.
"Fast
Company"- Although I recommend paying for a subscription to their
print magazine, FastCompany also includes old articles and other items only
their web site that are worth checking out. Try their Company
of Friends community and subscribe to their newsletter, FastTake,
for great career and work-life insight."Interactive Week", a weekly paper in color to keep you up on
the latest technology, deals and issues. Subscribe at http://www.zdnet.com/zdsubs/iaweek/extra.html.
"Red Herring", http://www.redherring.com/,
offers web-related company and investment news for the pre and post-IPO world. Their
online site is just as good.
"Silicon Alley Reporter", www.siliconalleyreporter.com, offers news
on the people and technology in the "Silicon Alley-way", i.e., New
York City's web scene.
