WEBMASTER "GOTTA HAVE" TOOLS

If you're a one-person web site like I am or a webmaster of a small site (or even large ones!), these are very useful tools:

  • JimWorld's VirtualPromote site is very useful for webmasters, with tutorials and checklists on a number of topics. Includes JimTools.
  • WebAttack boasts of having the world's largest collection of Internet tools.
    • Visit their Top 50 Freeware Downloads - You have to get the ZoneAlarm firewall if you don't have one already, plus many of the other free tools offered here.
  • The Webmaster's Toolbox is full of annoying ads, but still has a lot of free resources to help e-biz folks  design and promote our sites. I guess it pays the bills! ;-)
  • Add a Free Search Tool to your website with Tippecanoe's Index My Site for Free at http://www.indexmysite4free.com/
  • The Ecommerce W explains thousands of e-biz technical terms, including the technical jargon we all love so much. Can you say "S-Mime encryption"? I knew you could!

WRITING FOR THE WEB and STYLE GUIDES
